Een biologisch zaadbehandelingsmiddel dat is ontwikkeld om groentegewassen een sterke en betrouwbare start te geven. Susteed bevat de actieve stof Bacillus amyloliquefaciens stam QST713. Deze actieve stof wordt in de tuin- en akkerbouw succesvol toegepast via de biologische bladfungicide Serenade® SC.
Het middel wordt vóór het zaaien op het zaad aangebracht. Na het zaaien wordt de Bacillus amyloliquefaciens stam QST713 actief in de wortelzone. De bacterie voedt zich met wortel exudaten en creëert een dichte biofilm om de wortels. Dit vormt de basis voor beschermende en plantversterkende werking van Susteed. Susteed biedt bescherming tegen bodemgebonden ziekten, veroorzaakt door schimmels uit de groepen ascomyceten en basidiomyceten, zoals Phoma en Rhizoctonia.

A biological seed treatment developed to provide vegetable crops with a strong and reliable start. Susteed contains the active ingredient Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain QST713. This active substance is successfully used in horticulture and arable crops through the biological foliar fungicide Serenade® SC.
The product is applied to the seed prior to sowing. After sowing, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain QST713 becomes active in the root zone (rhizosphere). The bacterium feeds on root exudates and forms a dense biofilm around the roots. This forms the basis of the protective and plant-strengthening effects of Susteed. Susteed provides protection against soil-borne diseases caused by fungi belonging to the ascomycetes and basidiomycetes groups, such as Phoma and Rhizoctonia.
